Surrey Heath Youth Council is a project motivated and run by young people themselves and backed by the Eikon charity. The Council has 20-25 active young members and is involved with five local secondary schools in Surrey Heath. It aims to involve young people in areas of perceived need including supporting young carers and promoting an awareness of mental health issues.

The Council ran a successful and award winning Anti-Bullying Day three years ago and due to high demand were asked to run another for all the secondary schools in Surrey Heath. Attendees learned about the impact of bullying and how to try and tackle it. Participants in the scheme have become anti-bullying ambassadors in their school year groups which has had a real impact on negative behaviour.

The HSYA grant provided funds for art supplies and badges for the workshops attended by 125 young people.
