The Be Your Best Foundation aims to reduce drug misuse and crime, to discourage the use of alcohol and nicotine amongst young people, advance education and hard work and to promote healthy living. The Be Your Best Rock Challenge is a fully inclusive, drug-misuse and crime prevention initiative – a performing arts competition for schools. The young people involved choreograph, design and build the sets as well as performing their own five to eight minute performances, competing against other schools. The Rock Challenge event took place in Surrey at G-Live in Guildford for the second year in 2015. A day of rehearsals culminated in a spellbinding evening performance in front of family members, peers, VIPs and a panel of judges. “I attended the Rock Challenge and was hugely impressed by the performances of all those taking part,” says Peter Lee. “About 800 young people across Surrey benefit from this extraordinary project.”
