TS Ambuscade

TS (Training Ship) Ambuscade NTS (Nautical Training Corps) is a unit set up in Merstham – an area of multi-deprivation – in May 2010. Its aim is to 'divert young people away from the streets, TV and computer games and allow them to socialise and build friendships in a secure and safe environment, whilst engaging in character building activities'.

Our HYSA grant of £400 subsidised the project's sailing and powerboating weekend camp in August 2011 at the National Seamanship Training Centre in Portsmouth, to help encourage and build a strong team ethic amongst existing members and new recruits.
