High Sheriff of Surrey 2011-2012, Professor Michael Joy visited the Barn Youth Café in Guildford in November 2011 to present a certificate of recognition and a cheque from the HSYA. This will provide funding for equipment and training of staff and volunteers at this drop-in centre for young people aged 8-19 years in the Park Barn and Westborough areas of Guildford. The Barn Youth Café helps young people to stay engaged with the school curriculum and supports school leavers with job applications, offering workshops and activities aimed at reducing anti-social behaviour.
