Hotspot is a drop-in youth café for young people aged 13 to 17 years old. They meet once a week for a range of activities: internet access, companionship, advice and youth workers to talk to. Members decided to create a Hot Spot Youth Café Calendar 2009, featuring aspects of local life. They sought out community groups of all ages, interviewed them, took photographs and then collaged the results into a Calendar.

Each month had its own timely message, as well as images showing the Hotspot Café group interacting in the community. The High Sheriff Youth Awards gave £1,000 to buy the camera, printer, software and cover the print costs. The Calendar was a sell out!
